Advances on the Research of Bioactive Components in Cocoa Fruits

Abstract:Cocoa is an economically important, international, major crop and has been associated with several nutritional benefits including high antioxidant capacity. This paper describes active components of polyphenols, lipids, proteins and dietary fibre as well as the present researches on component analysis and function of the bioactive compounds in cocoa fruit.
