| Abstract: | The present situations of main water conveyance projects and field water distribution systems in large irrigation districts in Shaanxi Province and Ningxia Autonomous Region are introduced and discussed. Soil salinization and reclamation of salt effected soils, combination of canal irrigation with well irrigation, and water management system reform are also discussed. The reasons of over irrigation and soil salinization, and their harmful effects are analyzed, and solutions to the existing problems in large irrigation districts in Shaanxi and Ningxia are also provided in this paper. |
