摘    要:简要介绍了番茄驯化和栽培发展的历史。对美国罐头工业和株系育种在番茄生产中发挥的作用、遗传资源利用现状和育种技术的发展历程、番茄及其制品的消费现状等方面进行了述评,分析了加工技术和新品种改良技术对美国番茄生产的深远影响。

Abstract:History of evolving and culturing tomato was briefly introduced. Reviews were made on the roles played by canning industry and single plant line breeding in tomato production, utilization of genetic germplasms and procedure of breeding technique development, situation of consuming tomato and its products. Profound effects of processing and new variety improving techniques on tomato production in America were analyzed.
