Discussion on Key Problems of Excellent Clone Selection of Pinus yunnanensis at Early Stage

Genetic improvement of Pinus yunnanensis has been carried out only with sexual pattern,but the advantage of clone selection has been ignored.On the basis of review of sexual improvement,the paper discusses the possibility for clone improvement and corresponding key issues,such as establishing of breeding groups,determining of early selection age and improving of clone propagation.Meanwhile it proposes the procedure of clone early selection in view of shortening the breeding cycle,increasing genetic return in a fixed time and selecting reliable objectives.
