A brief review of advances in soil water research

This paper reviews the progress and achievements in soil water research. The idea has been developed from the view of original morphology to the present view of energy in the field of soil water research. At the same time, it has gradually grown into an interdisciplinary from former simple study and then a separate knowledge. The study methods focus on practical application and the combination of theories and practices with the gradual perfection of theory studies. The study means in soil water research has tended to be diversified, and the research field has expanded much. Furthermore, some issues existing in the current research are discussed, and the further research is looked ahead.
