Abstract: | Viable conidia of Septotinia podophyllina are found on sclerotia on dead last year's leaves of Populus in spring. Prunus serotina is described as a new host. Inoculation experiments on leaves in petri-dishes with Populus- and Prunus isolates demonstrated no host-specificity. A possible introduction of the organism from North-America, its native area, into Europe and Asia is considered. |
