Observations on systemic infection of potato plants grown from stem cuttings inoculated withCorynebacterium sepedonicum

Summary Potato stem cuttings dipped in high concentrations ofCorynebacterium sepedonicum developed into plants which showed ring rot symptoms on leaves, stems and tubers after 13 weeks. Stem cuttings dipped in very low concentrations of the bacterium developed into plants which visually could not be distinguished from non-infected plants, but latent infection was detected in leaves, stems and tubers.
