| Abstract: | By means of field investigation and literature review,the species,quantities,ages,conservation grades,site conditions,growth potential,conservation conditions,current problems of the ancient and famous trees were studied in Jiangyou City.The results showed that there were up to 137 ancient and famous trees belonging to 28 species,27 genera and 22 families in Jiangyou City,including 10 first-class ancient trees,25 second-class ancient trees and 101 third-class ancient trees.The ancient and famous trees grew well and had the north-south transitional characteristics.The temperate distribution-type and the tropic distribution-type were dominant in the distribution of genera.This paper put forward some countermeasures,including strengthening propaganda,innovating financing methods,and developing professional contingent to solve lots of problems in the conservation of ancient and famous trees,such as the weak consciousness of protection,and the shortage of funds and professionals. |
