The Research on Development of American Edible Fungi Industry

Based on the industry data, press and research reports released by the USDA, NASS and related trade association,the trend and reasons of the American edible fungi industry were analyzed. It is found that with the increase of production efficiency, the production and value of edible fungi in America increase year by year, but through continuous merger and acquisition, the number of growers decreases significantly. Under the spontaneous organization and coordination of government and industry association, the competition of American edible fungi industry is orderly, and the price is stable. The edible fungi industry has created good economic, social and ecological benefits. America is the second largest producer of edible fungi in the world. Studying the trend of production and consumption of edible fungi in America will help guide the healthy development of the industry in China.
