Abstract: | The kinetics of the degradation in soil of propyzamide and nine analogues have been measured at two temperatures (28 and 60°C). The degradation rates of propyzamide were determined in sterilised soil and in soil perfusates. The results obtained are in agreement with a chemical degradation of propyzamide and its analogues. Relationships were established between degradation rate constants and physicochemical parameters of the compounds: log k = ?aσ+bπ + c where σ = Hammett constant, π = hydrophobic constant, a, b, c are constants. |
