| Abstract: | [Objective]To discuss the in vitro bacteriostasis of the extracts from the seeds and leaves of Gingko biloba L. [Methods]Crude extracting solutions were extracted from the G. biloba leaves and seeds by ethanol extracting method. Inhibitory effects of the extracting solutions of G. biloba leaves and seeds on Escherichia coli,Proteus vulgaris,Bacillus subtilus and Staphylococcus aireus were researched. [Results]Extracts from G. biloba leaves had relatively strong effects on S. aireus with the minimal inhibitory concentration being 125. 00 mg/mL,and had certain inhibitory effects on E. coli with the minimal inhibitory concentration being 250. 00 mg /mL. However,it had no inhibitory effects on B. subtilus or P. vulgaris. Extracts from G. biloba seeds had no inhibitory effects on four bacteria. [Conclusions] Extracts from G. biloba leaves had relatively good inhibitory effects on E. coli and S. aireus,but had no effects on B. subtilus or P. vulgaris. Extracts from G. biloba seeds had no inhibitory effects on all the four bacteria. |
