| Abstract: | As a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine,Amomum tsao-ko is of bright prospects in development and utilization. Through textual research on materia medica in previous dynasties and prescriptions,it is found that Amomum tsao-ko is often used together with the ripe fruit of Amomum para-tsaoko S. Q. Tong et Y. M. Xia. They have similar efficacy and can be used as substitutes for each other,yet the usages are slightly different among various dynasties. Philology basis for research on the variety origin and traditional functions of Amomum tsao-ko is provided. |
