Abstract: | A case of spina bifida in a Friesian cross calf is described. The case was unusual as the calf was alive and ambulatory. There was no locomotor disturbance but a small skin defect was present in the thoracic region with anomalies of the thoracic vertebral laminae 9 and 10 and the associated ribs. Radiographic studies and post mortem findings are reported to indicate the extent of the lesion. |
