The Propagation Method of Peony by its Twig and the Cytohistological Observation on the Root Regeneration

This paper reported the propagation method of tree peony by twig ringing and growth substance treatment, and in vivo, the cytohistological changes in the process of callus formation and root regeneration. From the cortex cells in the vicinity of the vascular tissue originated callus, in which solitary parenchymatous cells may dedifferentiate to form the meristematic nodule. The later may progressively differentiate into the vascular nodule with tracheids in the inner surrounded by cambium-like cells. With monopolarity the root primordia originated endogenously from the meristematic or vascular nodules. All characeristics mentioned above are the same as those of other woody plants in vitro.
