Abstract:Eggs and serum samples were collected from hens every 2 weeks for 50 weeks from hens caged individually so that the yolk and serum samples could be paired. It was found that the antibody titer of the yolk sample regressed significantly (F = 403.3, df = 1/135, P less than 0.001) on the titer of the serum sample. This permitted the use of the yolk titer to predict the serum titer.
