Abstract:This review describes the development of tomato genetic transformation techniques via Agrobacterium tumefaciens.The principle of the Agrobacterium tumefaciens and the factors that affect the efficency of transformation are also discussed,such as genotypes of varieties,recipient system,pre-culture,the bacterial cell density and the time of the infection incubation.At present a great variety of tomato with characters have been acquired.
