| 摘 要： | 评价理论是系统功能语言学在对人际意义的研究中发展起来的一种新的词汇语法框架。这一理论受到广泛关注，并应用于分析多种类型的文本，如新闻、广告等。文中主要通过分析《白象似的群山》来揭示评价理论在文学作品解读中的应用，并从另一角度展示海明威独特、精湛的人物鞭造方式，以彰显其“冰山原则”。分析表明评价理论在文学作品的人物形象塑造、作家写作风格以及文体特征等方面都有较广的应用前景。对文学作品的分析也有助于评价理论体系的进一步完善和发展。

| Abstract: | Appraisal theory, a newly developed theory, applies SFL to investigating the interpersonal meaning of language. It has been employed to analyze various kinds of text such as news, advertisement. This paper aims at demonstrating the plausibility of appraisal theory in analyzing literary works. Hemingway＇s unique writing style and his famous ＂iceberg principle＂ are illuminated in the light of appraisal theory. The practical value of the theory in analyzing the characterization, writing style and stylistic features is shown in the paper. Meanwhile, the system of appraisal theory can be enhanced and developed through the analysis of literary works. |
