新疆绿洲防护林体系

新疆地处欧亚大陆腹地，远离海洋，四周环山，形成我国最大的内陆干旱荒漠区，绿洲面积仅占土地总面积的３．５３％。绿洲防护林体系建设，是改变绿洲面临一系列生态环境问题的重要措施。经３０多年的研究和实践，已探索出一套适合干旱荒漠地区绿洲防护林体系的建设模式。

OASIS SHEL TER SYSTEMS IN XINHANG

Xinjiang Uiqur Autonomous Region,the largest arid zone in China, is situated in thehinterland of Eurasla。It is far away from oceans,surrounded by mountians。Xinjiang' soases cover only 3.53%of the total land area。The construction of oasis shelter systems isan important measure for changig a serics of habitat problems.Through thirty odd yearsof scientific research and practices,a set of models for building oasis protective system offorest in Xinjiang have been developecl.It is suited to local conditions。That is to estalish aprotective forest system composed of grasses,shrubs and trees.A shrub─grass barrier isbuilt arround the periphery of oasis。 Large scale windbreaks and sand─fixing forests arepresent around the oasis,with a shelter belt forest network in the inner oasis areaintercropping and other agroforestry systems inside the network。
