Abstract:Photoperiod-sensitive genic sterile lines Nongken 58s and Fang 8-2s, which are sensitive to photoperiod in the first photoperiodic reaction of developmental inducement, were crossed with 5 general varieties which are insensitive to photoperiod in both of the two photoperiodic reactions. The two photoperiodic reactions of the 2 parents, F_1 and F_2 were analysed under artificial light condition by using the rate of promotion of heading in short day and bagged seed setting percentage in long day. The results suggest that the first photoperiodic reaction is a quantitative character controlled by a group of polygenes. The second photoperiodic reaction is controlled by a recessive gene. The sterile gene tends to be inherited with linkage to the group of genes eontroling the sensitivity of the first photoperiodic reaction. But these two characters are controlled by different genes which can be recombined. The analyses of F_9 population shows that the recombination of the two characters with insensitivity to photoperiod in the first photoperiodic reaction and sensitivity in the second one have succeeded.
