“刘东山夸技顺城门”两个英译本比较研究

翻译大家杨宪益、戴乃迭译作等身,且质量上乘,但也存在一定的缺憾。本文通过对杨宪益与温晋根译《刘东山夸技顺城门》的比较,根据"信、达、雅"的标准和原则分析其特点,指出其不足。

The comparison of two english versions of liu dongshan brags of his prowess at a city gate

As famous translators,YANG Xian-yi and DAI Nai-die have contributed lots of translations,most of which are well qualified,but on the other hand,certain drawbacks do exist in their works.By comparing two translating versions by YANG Xian-yi and DAI Nai-die and by Wen Jingen respectively of Liu Dongshan Brags of His Prowess at a City Gate,the reviewer,in this article,has analyzed Yang's version and tried to find its translating merits and defects in terms of faithfulness,expressiveness and elegance.
