根治黄河

李赋都同志是我国著名的水利科学家,五十余年来,他继承我国近代最著名的水利科学家李仪祉先生的治黄思想,将自己国外学到的近代水利科学知识与黄河的实际及自己的实践相结合,孜孜不倦地研究黄河的开发与治理。《根治黄河》一文,是李赋都同志逝世前三个月在双目失明的情况下,坚持写的一个初稿,也是他最后的一篇遗稿。文中概述了他治黄思想的梗概,对引黄灌溉提出了他的见解,认为黄河灌溉必须与治黄统一,发展灌溉必须在流域开发治理的总体规划指导下进行,这对我们灌溉工作者是很有启示的。

A Radical Solution for the Yellow River

Comrade Li Fudu is one of the renowned specialists on water conservancy. He has inherited the concept for regulating the Yellow River which was put forward by Li Yizhi, the most prestigious water conservancy specialist of modern China, and has used the knowledge of modem water science he learned abroad to combine the actual situation of the Yellow River with his own practice, and for the past fifty odd years, hehas worked diligently without fatigue on the studies of developing and regulating the Yellow River. This "A Radical Solution for the Yellow River" is merely a piece cf draft works which is also his last written through great effort under the condition of total blindness of his both eyes three months before his death. In the paper, he hassummarized the basic concept of regulating the Yellow River, and has put out his own ideas on the diverting the Yellow River water for irrigation. He realized that irrigation by the Yellow River must be combined with regulating it, and the development of irrigation should be conducted together with the development and regulating of its whole valley under the guidance of a general project. These thoughts will sure give the irrigation workers much revelation.
