| Abstract: | The main characteristics of the chemical structure of Deoxyribonucleic acid is described. The methods of sequencing of DNA used today are represented, the base-specific cleavage reactions used in the chemical sequencing procedure and the chain-termination reactions used in the enzymatic procedure. From own studies bovine genomic sequences are shown and some important methodical aspects explained. The application of the sequence analysis is shown with the organization of the porcine growth hormone gene and with the sequence dependence of DNA conformation. |
