| Abstract: | Under the influence of idea as moderate hermit, the courtyard garden, a new form of private gardens, occurred in Tang and Song Dynasties. On the basis of analyzing the origin and development of the idea as moderate hermit, its influence on the arising, development and forming of the courtyard garden and future garden was illustrated by the following aspects： culture, aesthetics and soul expression of the literati. |
