Abstract:CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing technology is a widely used gene-editing system,which is easy-to-use,efficient and cost-effective.Rice is a strategic crop for global food security.Thus cultivation of high quality and high-yielding rice is of great importance.The CRISPR/Cas9 technology has brought a breakthrough in rice molecular breeding.This paper reviews the development of gene-editing technology,introduces the structure,composition and principle of the CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing system,focuses on the applications of the technology in rice molecular breeding and discusses the problems and perspectives of its applications in rice molecular breeding.
