Abstract: | Tan spot caused by Pyrenophora tritici‐repentis is a wheat disease found worldwide which can cause significant losses. This disease is characterized by typical symptoms: a necrotic spot surrounded by chlorosis halo. On the basis of its ability to produce chlorosis and/or necrosis symptoms on a differential host set. Eight races of this pathogen are currently recognized. These symptoms are the result of a specific interaction between the host and at least three host specific toxins Ptr ToxA, Ptr ToxB and Ptr ToxC. This interaction seems to be a mirror image of the classical gene‐for‐gene described by Flore. This paper presents a first literature review in the French language, identifying the major aspects of this disease, its epidemiology and diversity of its causal agent. |
