| Abstract: | 【Objective】 It was to improve the supplementation effect in winter.【Method】Sixty Jiulong yaks aged from 1 to 15 years old were selected as treatment group and 50 yaks with the same age were selected as control in this study.Yaks in treatment and control were grazed on natural grassland during the day,but only those in treatment were supplemented with formulated concentrates during the night.Body size and live weight were measured at the beginning,day 30 and day 90 of the experiment,respectively.【Result】The results showed that the supplementation did not significantly affect body height,body length and heart girth.On day 90 after the beginning of the experiment,yaks in treatment positively gained live weight,but yaks aged 8,10,12 years old did not yet recover their weights to those at the beginning of experiment.【Conclusion】It was concluded that supplementation during winter could reduce live weight loss during winter and increase live weight gain during warm season. |
