Abstract:A dynamic programming approach was used to evaluate the effect of changing the energy input to product price relationship on the beef production management decision. The results of the three applications (low-to-low, high-to-low and high-to-high input-product price relationship) emphasized the importance of the input-product price relationships on the beef production management decision process. The optimal beef production management strategies were generally consistant with beef production management practices followed in Hawaii under those input-product price relationships.
