Change in nitrate nitrogen stock in typical chernozem layers during application of straw and plant residues with mineral fertilizers

It is shown that the use of plant residues as organic fertilizers by their surface composting on the field with mineral fertilizers and lime not only increases the nitrate nitrogen stock in soil but also fixes it in the layer with maximum root spread against a background of plant residues of both sugar beet and barley.
