| Abstract: | Testing material of poplars: Populus deltoides Bartr. cl. 'Zhong-lin 28', cl. 'Zhonglin 46',cl. 'Zhonglin 115' and P. canadensis 'I-214', P. x euramericana 'Cima', and P. x euramericana 'Avanzo' were collected from the poplar provenance conservation plantations in the Baoding Prefecture Forest Research Institute, Hebei Province. Their wood anatomy, chemicl composition, physical and mechanical properties were studied. The results showed the differences of the wood properties of the 6 poplar clones, which can be used as scientific foundations for selection of fine clones and wood utilization of new poplar clones. |
