Abstract:In order to screened out excellent Chinese fir varieties which are suitable for promotion in the central fir area of Fujian.A plantation with five Chinese fir varieties(the seedling of Youxi second generation orchard,the seedling of Yangkou second generation orchard,seedling of Rongshui provenance,tissue culture seedling of Yang-020 clones and seedling of Shaxian provenance)were planted in Xinkou Forestry Farm of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University.12 years after afforestation,the average growth of different Chinese fir varieties were investigated.The study indicated that different varieties of afforestation has significant differences on DBH,tree height,individual volume and accumulated growth of 12-year-old Chinese fir forests.The average DBH,tree height and individual volume and accumulated growth of five Chinese fir varieties all reached the fast-growing and high-yielding standard of Chinese fir in Fujian Province.Among them,the seedling of Youxi second generation orchard has the highest growth rate,followed by the seedling of Yangkou second generation orchard,and seedling of Rongshui provenance is the worst.The average DBH,tree height and individual volume and accumulated growth of Chinese fir materials at various slope positions are shown as follows:downhill growth>medium slope growth>uphill growth.
