Abstract: | Implants of plaited carbon fibre have been used in the repair of ruptured Achilles tendons in ten dogs. Additionally the hock was held in extension by inserting a screw through the fibular tarsal bone and the tibia. When the screw was removed in the sixth week the repaired tendon was thick and taut, and leg use was thereafter virtually normal. |
