Abstract:Two outbreaks of mycoplasmosis in goats apparently caused by organisms found to be related both to Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. capri (PG3) and to the LC biovar of Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides (Y-goat), are described for the first time in Brazil. The disease affected mainly young goats and was characterized by pneumonia and other respiratory symptoms, kerato-conjunctivitis and septic arthritis. Morbidity and mortality in kids up to four months old were 90 and 65%, respectively.
