Abstract:Regulated deficit irrigation (RDI) is a kind of water saving irrigation method being brought forward in 1970s. Up to the present, RDI has been studied thoroughly, and many excellent achievements have been accomplished. This article mainly deals with the application of RDI on fruit trees comprehensively, including the conception of RDI, its development, its theory, and the main problems in RDI research. The research and application prospect of RDI is also discussed.
