Abstract:The experiments of the effects of different concentration of metal ions(Cd2+ and Al3+) on the cytogenetic toxicity in Vicia faba root tip were undertaken in laboratory: The results can be concluded as follows: The low concentration of Cd2+ and Al3+obviously promoted the cell mitosis in Vicia faba.Cd2+ and Al3+,however,inhibited the cell mitosis when their concentration reached a high level; both Cd2+ and Al3+induced micronuclei and chromosomal aberrations in Vicia faba root tip,no matter what level of concentration was. Within certain range of concentration,MCNF was found to increase systematically with metal ions concentration. After the metal concentration reached a higher level,the MCNF decreased,while the chromosomal aberrations was always found to increase systematically with metal concentration.
