Effects of in Ovo Feeding Glutamine on Early Immune Organs in Broiler

In this study,240 hatching broiler eggs at 18 d incubation were randomly divided into 4 treatments groups with 6 replicates of 10 eggs each.Eggs in group one were injected with 1 mL 7.5 g/L physiological saline into amniotic cavity as control,and those in group two,three and four were injected into amniotic cavity with 1 mL 5 mL/L,10 mL/L and 15 mL/L glutamine solution,respectively.The results showed that the weights and organ indexes of thymus,spleen and bursa of fabricius in 7 d broilers in ovo fed with glutamine had no statistical differences compared with those in the control group(P>0.05).The thymus weights of 7 d broilers showed increased trend(P>0.05).And the thymus indexes of broilers in ovo treated with 10 mL/L and 15 mL/L glutamine increased 22.67% and 19.56%(both at P<0.05) respectively.The spleen weight of broilers in ovo treated with 5 mL/L glutamine increased 25.00% compared with that of the control group(P<0.05),and the spleen indexes increased by 24.53%(P<0.05).The spleen weight and spleen index of broilers in ovo treated with 10 mL/L glutamine increased by 31.25% and 32.08%(P<0.05) respectively.However,the weight and organ index of bursa of fabricius in all test groups showed no statistical differences compared with the control group(P>0.05).
