| Abstract: | A short report is given on the international effort for reestablishing the brown bear in the Alps. Under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr.W. Schröder (German Soc. of Wild Biol.) first it is planned to increase the rest population of the bear living in the Brenta-Mountains (Italian Alps). After that new settlements will be made in other parts of the Alps.
