Abstract: | The single species Chlamydia psittaci is a diverse grouping which contains several different types of chlamydial strain for which there is no generally accepted typing method. The results obtained when profiles of polypeptides from purified elementary bodies are compared are consistent with type designations obtained using other criteria. However, the method still requires large scale culture and extensive purification of the chlamydial cells. |
