Abstract:A 3-year-old cow was presented with bilateral corneal edema, increased respiratory effort, nasal discharge, and pyrexia. Ovine herpesvirus-2 was detected, confirming malignant catarrhal fever (MCF). The findings from this case suggest that MCF should be included in the differential diagnosis of mature cattle with ocular and nasal lesions, especially when sheep are present on the farm.
