| Abstract: | Reaction of 3569 local varieties of rice to bacterial leaf streak ( caused by Xan thomonas campestris PV. Oryzicola ) , collected from Yunnan province in China, was tested under natural infection in 1986. A total of 286(8.02%) varieties were highly resistant and 718(20.1%) were moderately resistant. The results indicated that the frequency of resistant varieties is conrelated with rice types as well as altitude. The distribution of resistant varieties suggested five different regions that are charactenized by different frequencies of resistant varieties. |
