| Abstract: | Commercial bacterial formulations were added to new seawater aquariums, and their ability to accelerate the establishment of nitrification was compared with untreated controls. Fritz-Zyme No. 9, a liquid formulation, markedly decreased the time to complete oxidation of ammonia but did not accelerate the oxidation of nitrite; Bio-Con CRC-610, a dry formulation, did not accelerate ammonia or nitrite oxidation. |
