Abstract:Catastrophe progression method has absorbed the advantages of analytic hierarchy process(AHP) and fuzzy evaluation,which has the advantages in the study of the multi-objective evaluation system of sudden forest fires.In this study,based on the statistics data of forest fires in Fujian Province from 1998 to 2007,in the light of advances in the evaluation of forest fires,an indices system to evaluate the loss from forest fires in Fujian Province was set up.Then it was evaluated and analyzed thought catastrophe progression method.The results showed that in recent 10 years,the overall loss of forest fires was serious and with a significant share of disastrous years in Fujian Province.Secondly,the loss of forest fires fluctuated severely,which had a great gap between the most serious disasters in 2004 and the lightest in 1998.It has been proved that catastrophe progression method with satisfactory results should be adopted in the multi-objective evaluation system of forest fires.
