The morphological features, seedling cultivation techniques, introduction, and growth status of Bixa orellana in Guangzhou were summarized. It was shown that Bixa orellana can adapt the soil and climate in Guangzhou. It is impoverishment tolerant, fast growing, strong stress tolerant and pruning tolerant. Therefore, it is suitable for landscaping planting. It is proposed to develop the economic forest of Bixa orellana, which can be also used as extracting the pigment Bixin.
