A Discussion on Inhibitory Action of Intermediate Cutting to Damage of Tomicus piniperda

Intermediate cutting enhance the conversion ability of Pinus yunnanensis stands, which lead to the decrease of death and increase of net increment, so the internal energy of stand system is enhanced, the ability of Pinus yunnanensis resist pest and disease is related with site conditions and conversion ability of itself. Stands will show a powerful resistance to Tomicus piniperda after intermediate cutting. Under the similiar conditions, intermediate cutting improve conversion function of stands, so the resistance of stand to pest and disease will be enhanced with the increase of intermediate cutting intensity.
