从茶文化视角看晚清“条约口岸知识分子”的生存状态

晚清“条约口岸知识分子”或为江南底层文人,或为名士仕宦之后,但均因生活窘迫、社会动荡不得不佣事西人。他们是中国传统文人向近代知识分子嬗替的重要环节。本文借鉴新文化史研究范式,从茶文化视角探究晚清“条约口岸知识分子”的物质生活、人际交往情况、价值观念及精神诉求,揭示了晚清中国传统文人精神世界的进退失据。

On the Subsistence of Intellectuals in Treaty Port Cities in the Late Qing Dynasty from the Perspective of Tea Culture

Intellectuals in treaty port cities in the late Qing Dynasty were either literati at the bottom society in Jiangnan areas,or offspring of famous officials and celebrities.However,poor living conditions and social unrest forced them to work for westerners.They acted as an important link in the transformation from traditional Chinese intellectuals to modern intellectuals.Referring to the research mode of the new cultural history,this paper investigates the material life,interpersonal communication,values and spiritual pursuit of intellectuals in treaty port cities from the perspective of tea culture,thus revealing their spiritual dilemma in the late Qing Dynasty.
