Molecular- and chemo-systematics: do they have a role in agrochemical discovery? |

| Abstract: | The use of chemosystematics and molecular data for the selection of plants for screening for new agrochemicals are discussed. The paper shows how the use of systematic data for selecting plants for limonoids, diterpenoids and polyhydroxy alkaloids has resulted in the isolation of many biologically active compounds. |
