Abstract:The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different levels of noni fruit raw powder(Morinda citrigolia L.)on in vitro rumen fermentation function of cashmere goats through in vitro batch culture method and by determining the parameters of rumen fermentation in different culture time combined with multiple forages associative effect indicator(MFAEI).The results of this study could provide theoretical support for the development of new alternative antibiotic products in the production of cashmere goats and the rational utilization of noni fruit resources.The 2-year-old Inner Mongolia Albas white cashmere goats was used as rumen fluid donor animals.Five doses of noni fruit raw powder(0,1.0%,2.0%,3.5%and 5.0%)was added in the substrate cultured for 3,6,9,12 and 24 h with randomized complete block design.The results showed that different addition doses of noni fruit raw powder significantly decreased the pH,ammonia nitrogen(NH 3-N)concentration,protozoa number and acetate acid/propionic acid of rumen fermentation in vitro(P<0.05),and significantly increased the bacterial protein(BCP)concentration,total volatile fatty acid(TVFA)concentration and MFAEI(P<0.05),and the addition dose of 3.5%could better promote rumen fermentation function.It is concluded that the addition of noni fruit raw powder can promote the in vitro rumen fermentation of cashmere goats,decrease the protozoa number,and the above effects are better when the addition dose is 3.5%.
