| Abstract: | Requirement for salinity tolerant turfgrasses is increasing because of accelerated salinization of soil and shortage of potable water resources worldwide. The mechanism of salinity stress and the effects of salinity stress on seed germination, growth, ion balance and organics accumulation of turfgrasses were reviewed, and the mechanism of salinity tolerance of some turfgrasses was expounded, furthermore, the evaluation of salinity tolerance was discussed in this paper. Finally, the way to relieve the salinity stress of turfgrasses was forwarded. |
