木质复合材料──木材工业的发展方向

本文介绍了木材与塑料、合成纤维及其他非木质材料复合所形成的复合材料及其基本性质、加工工艺和应用前景。木质复合材料是一种很有发展前途的新型材料，此种材料的加工技术扩展了木材的应用领域，亦为木材工业提供了新的发展方向。

Wood Composites-A Developing Direction of Wood Industry

This paper discusses the composites combining wood with nonwood materials such as plastics,synthetic fibers,glass fibers and steel etc,and dicusses their properties and manufacturing process.The advantages of wood composites are low production cost,low consumption of energy and moderately high stiffness-and strength-to weight ratio.Moreover,they avoid the disadvantages of wood such as dimensional instability,fragibility and degradability etc.The technological process of wood composite extends the range of wood utilization and points to a new developing direction for wood industry.The research of new type wood composites has only a very short history in China.Main work is carried on in the Institute of Wood Industry,Chinese Academy of Forestry.Up to now,some good results have been obtained and a commercial mill is going to be set up in Beijing.
