| Abstract: | The progress in genetic basis of heterosis were reviewed. Multi-phasal classification was made to the main female parent, Pei'ai 64S, which is widely used in commercial two-line-system hybrid rice breeding. A viewpoint of favorablegenes and favorable genie interactions has been proposed to explain the genetic basis of heterosis in which elite pure lines areincorporated. |
