| Abstract: | Animal husbandry is the important constituent of national economy, it has been the mainstay industry of agriculture in China after several decades’ development, and the pattern and level of animal industry determined the modernization of agriculture. Recently, Jiangsu’s animal husbandry locates in the essential stage towards modern animal husbandry, one of the important subjects is to transform the mode of production and enhance the industry level. In this paper, the recent developments of the world and the experience on modern animal husbandry in agricultural developed countries was reviewed, current situation of animal husbandry, the opportunities and challenge be faced in Jiangsu were analyzed, and preliminary suggestion on acceleration of Jiangsu modern animal husbandry industry was presented. |
